When a receiver catches the pass and pitches it to a teammate, score it as one pass play. Each player who had the ball gets the yards they ran.
Steps
- Choose Pass Play, then Complete. If the last player with the ball scored, choose Touchdown instead.
- Above the list of receivers, choose Add laterals.
- Under Caught the pass, pick the receiver and enter their yards in Credited yards. Count to the spot where the next player caught the pitch.
- Choose Add lateral, then pick the player who caught the pitch and enter their yards. Add one for each pitch on the play.
- Check Total yards, choose Continue, then finish the play as usual.
For example, the QB hits the receiver for 10 yards and the receiver pitches to the running back, who runs 10 more. The receiver gets 10, the running back gets 10, and Total yards shows 20.
If your team doesn’t track yards, you only pick the players.
How the stats count
- The player who caught the pass gets the catch. Each player after them gets their yards, but no catch.
- The last player with the ball gets the touchdown or the first down.
- The passer gets passing yards for the whole play.
If the pitch hits the ground
Where a fumble is a dead ball, set Result to Dead-ball fumble and turn on Last pitch hit the ground. List only the players who had the ball. The last one gets the fumble.
Fix a lateral
To change the players or yards on a lateral you already scored, open the Plays tab, choose the play, then Edit receivers and laterals. Make your changes, choose Continue, then Save.
If you just scored the play without the lateral, undo it and score it again.
You can’t record a pitch after a run or a return.
